Short Sweet Love Poems
I loved you-even now I may confess
Some embers of my love their fire retain
But do not let it cause you more distress-
I do not want to sadden you again.
Hopeless and tongue-tied, yet, I loved you dearly
With pangs the jealous and the timid know
So tenderly I loved you, so sincerely,
I pray God grant another love you so.
I want to make you smile as you make me.
I wish you saw my thoughts right through my eyes.
You ask me what I'm thinking. I can't tell you.
You are the stars, and I the empty skies.
In me there is a yearning ever flowing
That needs to reach an end that never comes.
I cannot be myself without you with me.
This is a truth no wisdom ever plumbs.
You laugh, and say that I'm your personal angel,
And this is what I want so much to be.
The beauty of my life is like a passion
That blows right through the person that you see.
Loving you is something that comes easy,
Like walking in the sunshine to a song,
Like being in a place where you belong,
Like finding reasons when you know you're ready.
Nor do I care that working days are dreary,
The pay's a pittance and the hours are long.
Knowing that you love me keeps me strong,
The light within that lets me see life clearly.
Why is love the music of our meaning,
The lilt that makes our labor worth our living,
The loveliness no platitude can bear
In you I have a harvest past all gleaning,
A gift arrested in the act of giving,
A moment of delight that's always there.
Kind that you've been thinking of
Sweet and tender it will be
The perfect winning recipe
Filled with sugar and with spice
Ingredients that will entice
Just a touch of love and care
Offered with such joy to share
Every dish will be dreamy
Each one a special mystery
Instructions with the love I send
Teaching you the perfect blend
Cupcakes made with lots of flair
Filled with chocolate chips like air
Melting in your mouth so fast
Burst of chocolate special blast
Filling up your table right
With every bite of heart's delight
This my special gift to you
You'll win a heart ~ you always do
Everything I make with ease
Know that it will surely please
Ready now let's get chef's hat
Come back soon I love to chat.
So drawn to her, what the appeal
That set my pulses so to race
When e'er I gazed upon that face
Of one who was scarce but a child
Yet even then could drive me wild
I'll never know the how's and why's
I lost my heart to Hazel Eyes
But when I got that long sought kiss
I knew I'd found my Perfect Miss
My elfin girl from down the lane
And I'll never let her go again
For how could I describe our love?
Romantic love, all hearts and flowers
No way to count the days and hours
Spent in self-indulgent wishes
And thoughts of long awaited kisses
Of sweet embraces, tender sighs
And gazing into love filled eyes
Oh yes, it is that kind of love
Or, is it yet the love of passion
The ecstasy that knows no ration
That shuddering nerve-tingling feeling
The climax with your senses reeling
The wondrous joy when you discover
That sweet surrender to your lover
Oh yes, it's that kind of love too.
Or even yet a love that grows
One that cares and one that knows
That sees beyond the outer skin
Into the person deep within
That loves the spirit and the soul
The inner self that makes the whole
Built on trust and empathy
A love you know was meant to be
The love we share is all these things
A love that has no need of rings
A love you never need to doubt
A love I cannot live without
A love to last us all our days
A love I'll share with you always
Sitting here wondering why do I feel like this,
you made me feel like this after that kiss.
I feel my love has gotten stronger,
my love for you will last longer.
Wondering, is he the right man,
wondering, if he will put a ring on my hand.
When I talk to him I lose control,
it's like he is taking over my soul.
Wondering why you think I like your friend,
you know I'll only be for you til the end.
No one can ever love me the way you do,
because your love is pure and true.
Your eyes are so beautiful they make me weak,
when you look at me I cannot speak.
Wondering why it took so long for us to meet,
but it don't matter now my life is complete.
Wondering why I only want you to take my virginity,
wondering why when I'm around you I have no energy.
You are the only one I'll give my body to,
no one else, just you and only you.
When I'm lonely, I'm there crying for you only.
I go to places no one will ever find,
Way in the back of my mind.
I think of you and how you make me cry,
Without you by my side I wonder how I let the days go by.
I wish you could see how you make me be.
These dreadful tears I shed every night are all for you,
It's amazing how you seem to never see.
All the days I spent with you were wonderful, only if you knew,
If I could see you one last time, I'd know if our love was ever true.
Looking back I can still remember 'til this day,
Of your wonderful charm, I still love you, I'd be lying not to say.
Of all the time we shared, of all the memories we made memorable,
I'll surely never forget, forgive me if I may,
But listen to me now, you are defiantly unforgettable.
Forget him is what they say, but I'll never go that low.
You mean so very much to me, and I'll never,
Forget of the precious moments we shared together.
This is hard letting you go, I'll remember us forever,
'Til the day I die, in my heart I'll never let you go.
So who said it was easy to keep old flames burning
Even experts could use a little divine help now and then.
The easy part is to go out and be brilliant as Shakespeare.
Harder--much harder--to be the light dancing in someone else's eyes.
Lights such as love require more faith than fuel.
Of all leaps, the most dangerous is into the mind of your lover.
Regarding miracles What is less explicable than
Remaining in love through the long icy anguish of anger
All lovers long for freedom only slightly less than they fear it.
In the end, love burns not desire but fear.
Not one of us would be capable of keeping the fire burning
Except for the knowledge that it is the sweetest, best, and most
beautiful thing in our lives.
O, My luve is like a red, red rose
That's newly sprung in June:
O, my luve is like the melodie
That's sweetly play'd in tune
"So fair art thou, my bonnie lass
So deep in luve am I:
And I will luve thee still, my dear,
Till a' the seas gang dry."
"Till a' the seas gang dry, my dear,
And the rocks melt wi' the sun:
And I will luve thee still, my dear.
While the sands o' life shall run."
"And fare thee weel, my only luve,
And fare thee weel awhile!
And I will come again, my luve,
Tho' it were ten thousand mile."
A stranger you were once.
Then, with a gentle look you took my hand.
As our lives engaged,
you lit my life and I held both your hands.
Now that decades have passed,
ours souls have indeed become one.
How fortunate we are
that we have found the love so true
that everyone dreams about.
Who ever Loved, that Loved Not at First Sight
It lies not in our power to love or hate,
For will in us is overruled by fate.
When two are stripped, long ere the course begin,
We wish that one should love, the other win;
And one especially do we affect
Of two gold ingots, like in each respect
The reason no man knows, let it suffice,
What we behold is censured by our eyes.
Where both deliberate, the love is slight
Who ever loved, that loved not at first sight
I know it hasn't been long since I last saw you my dear,
But to me it feels as long as five hundred year.
I miss you to the point I am loosing all sanity,
There has to be an end to all this calamity.
I think of you every second and every breath,
For you I would stare even into the face of death.
To kiss your lips is to taste the sweetness of love,
And it brings forth feelings from the heavens above.
To look into your eyes is to gaze into the sky,
So beautiful with the stars and the heavens inside.
To see your smile is to see the divine,
This poem is for you, sweet love of mine.
