Graduation Poems

You have crossed a milestone;
Have completed your preliminary training,
Are ready to step out of the grounds,
Into further prospects – opportunities raining.

The whole world will be at you feet,
Heads bowed, arms wide open
Only you should know whom to accept,
And which offers are meant to be broken.

You will choose well, I trust,
And be extremely careful and wise,
For if you don’t, and go the wrong way,
Your morals will shrink to a minuscule size.

So make the right decision, brace yourself,
And be prepared to take a soaring flight,
Fly over high mounts, and beyond vast seas
And even ahead of that, set your sights.

Remember, however, that this a mere first step,
There is much more to learn – beyond your present station,
For that this remains forever, after your learning
Is what is called real education?

It seems like there is a graduation ceremony to look forward to. There are many gifts one could present their children with on their graduation day, but the most important one of them all would be advice. And then again, they might think of it as a lecture, if not delivered correctly, and won’t like it one bit if so. There is a way out, however – a nice, short and sweet graduation poem.

A graduation poem is an absolutely wonderful way of giving advice to the next generation on the occasion of their graduation. It will be something very emotional, and hence, the child is bound to listen carefully. It is a highly innovative and creative style of giving counsel, without making it seem like you’re trying to rule your kids’ lives, or that you still don’t trust them to take the right decisions, even after they have crossed this milestone, and grown into adults.

Graduation poems ought to carry a lot of love and affection, but most of all, they ought to carry tons of trust and faith – that you are absolutely certain that your child will never choose the wrong path, and always do that which is right, and advantageous to everyone. This is a very important thing for kids to know at their age, because it helps build up their self-confidence, and gives them the self-assurance to step into their new life with great zeal and enthusiasm. Apart from this, a small little graduation poem can express that everyone else knows the great amount of potential hidden within the kids, and that they themselves ought to recognize it and use it to the fullest.

You can’t say with mere sentences what you can through the means of a lovely graduation poem. It is the best means of saying what you wish to, without being challenged (which would be quite a surprise, I suppose), or any show of defiance. However, the words for the graduation poem ought to be chosen very carefully.
