Appreciation Poems

A brand new day is dawning

A brand new day is dawning
And as it gets its start,
I want you know I am thinking
Of you with warmth in my heart.

I hope your birthday is special,
No one deserves it more than you!
You are such a kindhearted person,
It shows in everything that you do.

So, have a perfect morning
And an even lovelier day...
May happiness surround you
Always.... not just for today!

A Teacher for All Seasons

A teacher is like Spring,
Who nurtures new green sprouts,
Encourages and leads them,
Whenever they have doubts.

A teacher is like Summer,
Whose sunny temperament
Makes studying a pleasure,
Preventing discontent.

A teacher is like Fall,
With methods crisp and clear,
Lessons of bright colors
And a happy atmosphere.

A teacher is like Winter,
While it’s snowing hard outside,
Keeping students comfortable,
As a warm and helpful guide.

Teacher, you do all these things,
With a pleasant attitude;
You’re a teacher for all seasons,
And you have my gratitude!

Angel Without Wings

Dear God,
I am just a little boy
I don't know how to pray
But please tell me, Lord
Why did you make me this way

He explained,
I gave you no sight
So others could see
That My glory is planted
In the smallest of seeds

I gave you no voice
So others you could teach
That even in silence
I can hear you speak

I gave you a life that others
Would not wish to have
So they would be grateful
Instead of boastful and proud

The body of a child
The purpose of a man
You were lovingly created
To fulfill the Master's plan

So close your eyes, my child
I will give you dreams
For someday you will fly
And you will not need wings

Friend Is, A

A friend is one of the nicest things you can have,
and one of the best things you can be.
A friend is a living treasure, and if you have one,
you have one of the most valuable gifts in life...
A friend is the one who will always be beside you,
through all the laughter, and through each and every tear.
A friend is the one thing you can always rely on;
the someone you can always open up to;
the one wonderful person who always believes in you
in a way that no one else seems to.
A friend is a sanctuary.
A friend is a smile.
A friend is a hand that is always holding yours,
no matter where you are,
no matter how close or far apart you may be.
A friend is someone who is always there
and will always, always care.
A friend is a feeling of forever in the heart.
A friend is the one door that is always open.
A friend is the one to whom you can give your key.
A friend is one of the nicest things you can have,
and one of the best things you can be.

Friend Like You, A

There's lots of things
With which I'm blessed,
My problems have been few,
But of all, this one's the best
To have a friend like you.

In times of trouble
Friends will say,
Just ask, I'll help you through it.
But you don't wait for me to ask,
You just get up and do it!

And I can think
of nothing more
That I could wisely do,
Than know a friend,
And be a friend,
And have a friend like you.

Friends Are Like Angels
Our friends are like angels,
Who brighten our days.
In all kinds of wonderful,
Magical ways.
Their thoughtfulness comes,
As a gift from above.
And we feel we're surrounded,
By warm, caring love.
Like upside-down rainbows,
Their smiles bring the sun.
And they fill ho-hum moments,
With laughter and fun.
Friends are like angels,
Without any wings.
Blessing our lives,
With the most precious things!

FRIENDS
Thank you Lord, for all my friends
Each one is dear to me
For all the smiles and glowing hearts
I seem to always see.

They're there in times of good and bad
Their love, they always share
They fill me with unending joy
And show me that they care.

I see them as the shining stars
God placed them there with care
I may not always see their smiles
But know they're always there.

God's Instrument

I see the hands that hold God's word
And fold in prayer to seek His will.
I see the feet that walk the path
And offers of praise as from lofty hill.

I see the hands that serve Him well,
The ears that seek to hear His call,
The mouth that speaks truth and wisdom,
The busy feet that carry the message to all.

I see the heart that was priked and entered
When God's man answered the gospel call
And yielded His life as a humble servant,
A man who is willing, as was Apostle Paul.

I see all of this as he stands in the pulpit,
An instrument through which God speaks
The words of wisdom, of love and peace,
To lead and guide all those whom God seeks.

If I Could Teach You, Teacher

If I could teach you, teacher,
I’d teach you how much more
you have accomplished
than you think you have.
I’d show you the seeds
you planted years ago
that are now coming into bloom.
I’d reveal to you the young minds
that have expanded under your care,
the hearts that are serving others
because they had you as a role model.
If I could teach you, teacher,
I’d show you the positive effect
you have had on me and my life.
Your homework is
to know your value to the world,
to acknowledge it, to believe it.
Thank you, teacher.

Make a wish on birthday

Make a wish and give it wings
Dreams of bright and beautiful things

Dance through all the fun filled hours
Don't forget to smell the flowers

Share some love and birthday cake
All life joys are yours to take

And when evening comes to view
Thanks your lucky stars you're you
Happy Birthday

My heartfelt appreciation
Is deeply felt and real.

You're a really great teacher
That's what we all say
And as a Thank You for all your help
I'm giving you an A

On second thoughts that's not enough
For helping all of us.
So from me you get this THANK YOU,
As well as this A PLUS

No, that's not enough either
For the teacher that you are
You get this Thank You, an A+
As well as this GOLD STAR

Now That You’re Retiring

Now that you’re retiring
We can tell you how we feel;
Our heartfelt admiration
Is deeply felt and real.

You’ve been a great role model
For teachers and each kid;
You showed us how to be
In everything you did.

We’ll miss your fine example;
We’ll miss the things you gave;
Our pleasant memories of you
We’ll recall and carefully save.

We wish for your retirement
The best of all your days;
May you discover sweet fulfillment
In new and rewarding ways.

Number One Teacher

I'm happy that you're my teacher;
I enjoy each lesson you teach.
As my role model you inspire me
To dream and to work and to reach.

With your kindness you get my attention;
Every day you are planting a seed
Of curiosity and motivation
To know and to grow and succeed.

You help me fulfill my potential;
I'm thankful for all that you've done.
I admire you each day, and I just want to say,
As a teacher, you're number one!

Parent's Blessing

You held your teddy bear in your arms
soon to dream of Old McDonald’s farm.
Once more Mommy kissed you on the head
but you wanted to read one more book instead.
She sang you a song, soft and sweet
you yawned a yawn almost ready for sleep.
Prayers were said yet you had one more thought
“When angels come to earth, are they ever caught”
Mommy smiled and looked at me
and I said God is in everything we see
blessing parents with their child’s love
God watches over all of us from high above.
Now close your eyes my darling
our love you’ll safely keep
and the angel in our arms finally fell asleep.

Sonnet For An Unforgettable Teacher

When I began your class I think I knew
The kind of challenges you'd make me face.
You gave me motivation to pursue
The best, and to reject the commonplace.

Your thinking really opened up my mind.
With wisdom, style and grace, you made me see,
That what I'd choose to seek, I'd surely find;
You shook me out of my complacency.

I thank you now for everything you've done;
What you have taught me I will not outgrow.
Your kind attention touched my mind and heart;
In many ways that you will never know.

I will remember you my whole life through;
I wish that all my teachers were like you.

Teacher Appreciation

With a special gift for learning
And with a heart that deeply cares,
You add a lot of love
To everything you share,
And even though you mean a lot,
You'll never know how much,
For you helped to change the world
Through every life you touched.

You sparked the creativity
In the students whom you taught,
And helped them strive for goals
That could not be bought,
You are such a special teacher
That no words can truly tell
However much you're valued
For the work you do so well.

Thank you so much for being
So very nice, kind and good;
I like you so much, (Miss Giles)
I'd stay here if I could

I always loved your class;
Your teaching helped me see,
That to have a full and happy life,
Learning is the key.

The Clouds

“Lonely as a cloud” Exception!
Mr Wordsworth, sir, we must
as clouds correct your misconception
to “content as a cumulus”.
Praise not earthfast daffodils
but Hosts of Silv’ry Celestials.

Golden blooms stretch’d along a bay
might present an awesome sight.
Yet all ten thousand, come what may
could never, breaking free, take flight.
Gaze above you. Reward your glances
with our infinite, shape-shifting dances.

Poets, artists, children too,
seeing layers, heaps and curls of hair
enrich their souls with what we do -
bunching, swirling in the air.
Those daffs outdid the waves The dolts.
Let ‘em try Kelvin-Helmholtz!

Sir, when on your indoor couch reclin’d
(A habit too oft indulg’d)
think cirrus, floccus - much more refin’d.
Enlightened, your inward eye will bulge.
Then your heart with pleasure fills
and soars amongst celestials.

Wandered Lonely as a Cloud

I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.

The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company
I gazed--and gazed--but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought

For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.
